👉 What Happened on Crypto Twitter at the End of December
Great Crypto Dramas of 2019, Halvening Speculation, Crypto YouTube Purge, and more
Hey everyone welcome back to Crypto Twitter TLDR, I’m Colin Goltra and here’s what happened on Crypto Twitter at the end of December.
Favorite Crypto Dramas in 2019 🥩🥊
@danhedl started a great thread reflecting on some of the best crypto dramas of 2019, including debacles by Justin Sun/Tron, legal bullshit and shenanigans by Craig Wright involving @hodlonaut, the Quadriga CX hack and mysterious Founder death, and - even more frightening - all the stuff that probably went on behind closed doors in the ecosystem.
Is the Halvening Priced In? 📈📉⁉️
As December came to an end, a lot of time was spent looking ahead to events on the horizon in 2020. Most notably, the 3rd Bitcoin halvening (halving) is currently projected to happen in May of 2020. Historically, the halvening events have corresponded with dramatic price increases as the unit economics change to adjust to the new stage of the supply issuance curve. In light of where the ecosystem is today versus the last halvening in 2016, notable Crypto Twitter personalities have weighed in on the potential for this upcoming halvening to serve as another price catalyst, or whether that potential price action is already priced in by the market.
The Christmas Purge of Crypto YouTube ▶️👾🎄
As Christmas rolled around, many Crypto YouTube channels were shocked to find that Google had inexplicably suspended their YouTube accounts. This caused serious concerns from creators, calls to build a decentralized video platform, and theories about what Google’s motives might have been.
Crypto Culture 👏👏👏
Ending this one as we always do with random crypto tweets. Hit me with feedback on this week’s letter (@goltra), Happy New Decade Crypto Twitter - to the moon ┗(°0°)┛
